The Sun Safety at Work Canada Working Group is a group of individuals and organizations that are interested in working together to enhance sun safety for outdoor workers in Canada. It is a collaborative volunteer group with research, policy, and practice interests and expertise, and has the following vision and purpose:
VISION
To work together to enhance sun safety for outdoor workers in Canadian workplaces by raising awareness about occupational sun exposure and supporting improved sun safety policy and practice across Canada.
PURPOSE
We recognize that sun exposure is a workplace hazard that can cause skin cancer, heat stress, and other serious health effects, all of which are preventable. By facilitating exchange of knowledge, expertise and tools, as well as providing evidence to support a deeper understanding of occupational sun exposure, we strive to inspire stronger sun safety policy and practice in Canada, and improve sun protection for outdoor workers.
