Latency period is the time between exposure to a potentially harmful agent and when the injury or harm appears. Skin cancer, for example, may develop years after exposure to the sun.

Leadership in an occupational health and safety context refers to actions which a leader engages in so as to motivate others to perform at a higher level than otherwise. In OHS, we often refer to ’leadership at all levels’ on the understanding that it is not only senior people in the organization who can inspire others to higher levels of OHS performance.

Likelihood is “the chance of something happening”.1 Likelihood is a probability or a frequency over a given time period. See also probability and risk estimation.
